Adult Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is one of the core training programs offered here. The classes are designed to improve the health, performance and mental acuity of the beginner and expert alike. Many of our students have gravitated toward this program because it is a form of sport competition. BJJ was first developed as a form of self defense, not as a sport.  Today both sides of this art are taught to students.  When practicing, one must rely on techniques that do not require a lot of strength or physical power to be effective.  BJJ is primarily a ground fighting art.  There are a variety of technical moves taught in this program such as: escapes, sweeps, submissions, throws, guard passes, etc.  Students are required to use a Gi during training sessions. Regular classes consist of warm up, drilling technique of the week or concept, and grappling/training time.

Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu/MMA

These programs are designed to help your children develop self-confidence and enhance social skills. Each class encourages your child to step out of their comfort zone and interact with other children their age.  We understand how important your child is to you and we want to help your children develop core values.

Tx 3rd Coast offers two separate kids programs:

Junior BJJ: This program covers two areas: self defense and sport competition. Your children will learn technical moves such as throws, guard passes, submissions, sweeps, escapes, combinations, and attacks.

Junior MMA: This is an innovative mixed martial arts class, designed to challenge your child’s physical and mental ability.  It is taught as a sport and a form of self defense.  The curriculum involves Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Judo, JKD, Boxing,and Submission Wrestling.

Kickboxing

This class is a mixture of kickboxing and Muay Thai.  We structure our classes differently in order to keep our students motivated.  Using several types of drills in this class not only reduces the likelihood of injuries, but it also helps students achieve a balanced workout that is conducive to developing martial art skills.

Boxing

Our boxing class is suitable for all levels and newcomers are always welcome. This class is made up of a combination of adult men and women.  If your goal is competing, we can help you achieve that goal.  However, if you have an interest in learning how to box, and are drawn to the overall physical and cardiovascular benefits of boxing, then this is also the class for you.  In this class expect to use various tools to cross-train your body, developing punching power and footwork skills.

Submission Grappling

Our Submission Grappling is an advanced class designed to improve the health, performance and mental acuity. With Submission Grappling, we incorporate many other wrestling art forms along with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  Many of our students have gravitated toward this program because it is a form of sport competition that involves elements of Sambo, Judo, Greco-Roman and Freestyle Wrestling, as well as BJJ.  There are a variety of technical moves taught in this program such as: escapes, sweeps, submissions, throws, guard passes, and strategies. Unlike BJJ, students are not required to wear a uniform. Regular classes consist of warm up, drilling technique of the week or concept, and grappling/training time.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a sport that utilizes a wide variety of martial arts fighting techniques.  Our MMA program is a combination of Brazilian Jui-Jitsu, Muay Thai, boxing, wrestling, takedowns, and clinching.  During this class members can expect to start off with a warm-up and then move into more intense activities such as tool development, hitting pads, working with heavy bags, drilling with partners, controlled sparring, and finally end the class with physical training.

This class is designed for anyone at a beginner, intermediate, or advanced level.  Our MMA program is what you have been looking for to take your training and self defense to the next level.

Jeet Kune Do (Filipino Martial Arts)

JKD/KALI develops ones efficiency when fighting and prepares individuals to handle any type of opponent.  Training focuses on street based self defense taught in realistic, everyday settings.  Our goal is to teach individuals the skills necessary to protect themselves in dangerous situations that may involve attacks, attacks with weapons, or attacks involving multiple opponents.   The curriculum includes training with single stick, double stick, stick dagger, double dagger, and empty hands.  Empty hands and stick training are taught simultaneously so individuals can see the relationship between armed and unarmed combat.

This is a specialty program only offered in privates as of right now.
